Eye In The Sky is the sixth studio album by The Alan Parsons Project and arguably the prog rock band's most commercially successful. The opening instrumental Sirius is one of the most famous in sport - the fanfare is inextricably linked with the announcement of Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls at competitions. The seamlessly following title track became a chart success and can still be heard on all radio stations today. With its great depth, concert hall level separation and realistic presentation, Eye In The Sky is an excellent illustration of how important perfectionism is to the work of sound and recording engineers. In the case of The Alan Parsons Project, this perfection is hardly surprising, as Parsons himself sat behind the controls for Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and The Beatles' Abbey Road. The Alan Parsons Project's critically acclaimed album "Eye In The Sky", which has sold millions of copies, is being reissued in various formats. Their sixth studio album was a Grammy-nominated worldwide hit and achieved platinum and gold status in numerous countries. As with other Alan Parsons Project albums, the album featured various lead vocalists, including Chris Rainbow, Colin Blunstone, Lenny Zakatek, Elmer Gantry and Eric Woolfson himself. They were joined by a selection of session musicians including guitarists Ian Bairnson and David Paton and drummer Stuart Elliott with arrangements by Andrew Powell. The Alan Parsons Project was a progressive rock band consisting of sound engineer and producer Alan Parsons and songwriter, musician and manager Eric Woolfson. Between 1976 and 1987, they released 10 concept albums that explored themes such as science fiction, the supernatural, literature and sociology and sold over 55 million copies worldwide. - 2LP 180g heavyweight 45 RPM Audiophile Edition - With a half-speed remastering by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios - Housed in polyethylene lined inner sleeves. - Printed insert with sleeve note
